Action Committee for the Release of the Political Prisoners (KAP T/N) is an independent forum serving as a moral force struggling for the release of ALL political prisoners in Indonesia including G30/S 1965, Borobudur, Lampung, PRD, OPM, Aceh and East Timor Political Prisoners


The Target of the KAP T/N struggle includes :
  • - Release of all political prisoners from jails/detention houses;
  • - Restoration of their civil and political rights;
  • - Clarification of all political cases of the New Order regime;
  • - Political and legal accountability of the New Order Authorities;
  • - Liberating of the Indonesian people from all kinds of intimidation, discrimination and shackle, which is essentially means the restoration of the dignity and the status of Indonesians as a civilized nation.

The actually represents the goal of KAP T/N
The KAP T/N tries to reach the goal, inter alia, by means of :

  • - approaching the related high level decision makers of this country like the Justice Minister, the Attorney General, The Defense and Security Minister/ commander of the Armed Forces, the Coordinating Minister for Politics and Security, the President of Indonesia
  • - approaching the legislatures : Commissions and Fractions of the Parliament
  • - approaching political parties
  • - promoting public aeareness to support actions for the release of political prisoners and restoration of their civil and political rights
  • - encouraging the families of political prisoners and ex-political prisoners to be more active in actions demanding the release of political prisoners, rehabilitation and compensation
  • - setting up networks with the mass media and other institutions for the campaign to free political prisoners, to respect human rights and to build democracy
